The Shield vs. The Wyatt Family could be a feud that makes the WWE a ton of money if they do it correctly.  Unfortunately, this one has no chance to have the longevity of The Freebirds vs. The Von Erichs since it seems inevitable that The Shield is breaking up sooner rather than later.  It would be nice to get at least more than one match out of the feud.  Can WWE hold off on turning Roman Reigns babyface long enough?  It would seem that they are building up for the breakup and Roman Reigns to take the US Title away from Dean Ambrose…perhaps at Wrestlemania?  We can hope that there is a rematch from Elimination Chamber at WrestleMania and the turn can happen there.  Then Roman Reigns can take the title from Ambrose at SummerSlam.

The main selling point of this feud is that there is rarely a heel vs. heel feud in pro wrestling.  It usually just wouldn’t work.  However, these two teams are bad asses and have the respect of the audience already.  It’s easy for the audience to care because they know that something good can happen.  Back in the old days, a heel vs. heel matchup would just present a lot of choke holds, eye gouges and stalling.  The business has changed enough to where you can have two heel factions due battle to lay claim to the title of “baddest of the bad.”  The reaction of the crowd on Monday Night RAW proved that they want to see this match and more than one time.  I wish they would have started the feud earlier because they are too far advanced into the Roman Reigns turning babyface storyline for them to drag this feud out to Survivor Series which would be perfect.  3 on 3 elimination match…Ambrose and Rollins decide to ditch Reigns and leave him 3 on 1 and he takes out the entire Wyatt Family by himself.

They built for Elimination Chamber perfectly on Monday Night RAW with the confrontation between The Shield and The Wyatt Family after Dean Ambrose’s match against Mark Henry.

The Shield didn’t back down from The Wyatts at all.  As a matter of fact, they came right for them.  The Wyatts backed down but not in a cowardly way but instead in a “now is not the time” kind of way.  It helps that The Wyatts had kicked ass earlier in the show just to keep it fresh in the viewer’s mind that they are badasses.  Bray killed Rey Mysterio with the Sister Abigail:

If there is going to be a second match in this feud, Dean Ambrose is going to get beat by Sister Abigail at Elimination Chamber after blind tagging in when Roman Reigns has the match won.  If there is just the one match, either Roman Reigns spears everyone into oblivion or he takes a Sister Abigail after a 5 on 1 beat down.

This feud could be so much more.  It saddens me that there might only be one match.  Guess they can’t make it too hard for Bootista to follow.
